Today, the heroine of our interview is Anna Vostretsova - an international model, winner of the Top Model of the Year title (Paris Fashion Awards 2026), participant in international fashion shows, mentor to models, judge of professional awards, author of scientific publications, the VNR methodology, and her own monograph dedicated to non-verbal communication in the fashion industry.

— You have achieved international recognition as a model, received prestigious professional awards, and walked the world’s runways. What has been the foundation of such professional development?
For me, modeling has always been not just a creative profession, but systematic work. For many years I have combined practice, study, and research, because I am convinced that a true professional must not only represent brands but also understand the processes that shape the industry.

— You are known not only as a model but also as the author of a unique VNR methodology. How did the idea to create your own approach to model training come about?
While working on runways and photoshoots, I noticed that the issue of non-verbal communication is often underestimated. That is why I developed the VNR methodology - a system that helps a model consciously work with movement, plasticity, and the transmission of meaning through image. Its goal is to make communication between the brand and the viewer more precise and effective.

— You are the author of a book and scientific publications in the field of fashion. Why is it important for you to engage in research activities?
I have always been interested in the combination of science and art. The book became the result of many years of research into the visual image and non-verbal communication in the modern fashion industry. I believe that the development of the profession is impossible without the theoretical understanding of practical experience.

— You not only work as an international model but also conduct author’s master classes and act as a mentor to models. What goal do you set for yourself in educational activities?
For me, educational activity is an opportunity to pass on professional experience and raise the standards of model training. During master classes, I teach not only runway walking technique but also work with image, plasticity, non-verbal communication, and interaction with the brand. Many of the methods I teach are based on my own research and the author’s VNR system, so for me this is not just teaching, but a contribution to the development of the profession.

— You were invited to join the jury of the international awards Cosmopolitan Beauty Awards and European Beauty Awards. How important has this experience been for your professional activity?
Being invited to the jury was a great professional responsibility and a sign of trust from the industry. Evaluating the participants’ work, I had the opportunity to analyze current trends, the level of specialist training, and the criteria by which professional mastery is determined today. This experience allowed me to look at the industry not only as a participant but also as an expert who takes part in shaping professional standards.

— How do you see the future of modern modeling?
In my opinion, the industry is moving toward greater awareness and professionalization. A modern model must be not only the face of a brand but also a personality capable of working with communication, cultural meanings, and the audience.

— What are you working on today?
I continue to develop the VNR methodology, work on new research and educational projects, participate in international fashion events, and strive to contribute to the development of professional model education.
